Metro Detroit weather: Chilly start in the 20s
Rounds of very light snow have been moving through overnight and that will create some slick spots on the roads especially through Oakland and Macomb counties early on your Tuesday morning. Most of our roads are in pretty good shape but watch out for some slick spots and take it easy out there. Temperatures are in the lower 20s and with a bit of a breeze, it feels like it’s in the lower teens and you’ll need to dress for those teens. We are hoping for some sunshine today but we will have to be patient.

Macomb, Oakland residents impacted by summer flood can apply for one-time food assistance payment
Low-income residents of Macomb and Oakland counties who were impacted by flooding this past June and did not receive food assistance benefits during July 2021 can soon apply for federal Disaster Food Assistance Program benefits, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's office announced Tuesday.

Major Disaster Declaration expanded to include Macomb and Oakland counties after record flooding
On Saturday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency has granted her request to expand the Major Disaster Declaration to include households in Macomb and Oakland counties following heavy rainfall and flooding across southeast Michigan in late June. FEMA’s agreement to expand the disaster declaration follows a letter Whitmer sent to FEMA appealing a previous denial of assistance to the areas.

Concerns mounting as SE Michigan remains under flood watch Tuesday night
A flood watch has been issued for 11 southeastern Michigan counties from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Those counties include Genesee, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne.
