Suspect allegedly knocked over shelves, caused ‘extensive damage’ in Detroit gas station dispute

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is searching for a suspect who allegedly caused “extensive damage” at a gas station after getting into an argument with the clerk.

The altercation happened at about 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Marathon gas station in the 8900 block of West McNichols.

“The suspect began knocking over shelving and merchandise after a verbal altercation with the gas station clerk, causing extensive damage,” according to a release from Detroit police. “He then fled the scene in a gray pick-up truck.”
