Police said one of the women was shot in the foot, and the other woman was shot in the leg.
Officials said the shooting was in response to an altercation that occurred on June 16.
“This is possibly stemming from an incident yesterday. It was retaliatory, and it was an isolated incident. The suspects came down the street and fired multiple rounds into this location and then fled.”
Detroit police Captain Shannon Hampton
The police are actively investigating this incident at this time.
Hampton said it was a late-model blue sedan involved, and two women, who are in their 20s, were injured and taken to a Metro Detroit hospital by ambulance.
“It’s a nice area. It’s a working-class area. Gun violence is never the answer to anything, so it is isolated for this area,” said Hampton.
Weapons were recovered, but two men in the car did the shooting.
