Macomb County animal rescue in need of help after flooding from severe storms

Wednesday’s storm floods rescue’s basement

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Communities are still dealing with the cleanup of this week’s storms. In Macomb County, an animal rescue will have to start from scratch after water flooded its basement.

A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue is asking for help to restock critical supplies that are needed to care for the animals.

The founder of the animal rescue said she spent years building up the shelter. In only a matter of minutes, all of the hard work unraveled

The shelter said Wednesday’s severe weather backed up a storm drain, and water reached up to the ankle.

Staff members quickly moved to protect the animals as water spread throughout the facility.

Thanks to the help of volunteers, they were able to clear the water out. However, they lost a ton of pet supplies, such as food, treats, and toys.

The rescue is asking the community to donate to their cause if you’re able so the group can start rebuilding those pet supplies.
