ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. – The St. Clair County Health Department has canceled a swimming advisory that was issued for Holland Beach in Port Huron due to elevated E. coli levels.

The advisory was initially issued on June 26, 2025, due to the elevated E. coli results.

More water samples were collected from the beach and tested, and the results show that bacteria levels are within the acceptable range set by the State of Michigan.

Health officials say elevated E. coli levels can happen after a storm or strong winds because bacteria are carried in stormwater runoff and stirred up from waves.
