WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A man was arrested after allegedly shooting and injuring two people in Redford Township.

Just before 1 a.m. on June 30, police said a man and a woman were assaulted by someone they didn’t know. The suspect, a 27-year-old Redford Township man, shot at the victim’s vehicle as they drove away from the area.

Update: Man accused of attempted murder, strangulation, weapons offenses arraigned in Redford Township

The woman was taken to a local hospital with significant injuries. The man sustained minor injuries.

According to authorities, the suspect is known to the Redford Township Police Department from multiple prior contacts.

The suspect was spotted Tuesday morning and tried to run away. He was later arrested at around 10:15 a.m. on July 1.

Charges were requested from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and are pending. The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
