Man accused of attempted murder, strangulation, weapons offenses arraigned in Redford Township

His bond is currently set at $1 million cash, with a GPS Tether requirement if the bond is posted

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Thomas Michael Contratto, 27, was arraigned in the 17th District Court on an 18-count felony warrant.

Just before 1 a.m. on June 30, police said Contratto assaulted a man and a woman.

Officials said the 27-year-old Redford Township man shot at the victim’s vehicle as they drove away from the area.

The woman was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital with significant injuries. The man sustained minor injuries.

Police said Contratto, who didn’t know the victims, was spotted on the morning of July 1 and attempted to flee before being arrested at 10:15 a.m.

His bond is currently set at $1 million cash, with a GPS Tether requirement if the bond is posted.
