It’s Independence Day, and various Metro Detroit communities are holding parades and showing fireworks on Friday.

  • 9 a.m. - Firecracker Mile Run
  • 9 a.m. - Parade
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Arts and crafts fair
  • 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. - Concessions and games
  • 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. - Carnival
  • 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. - Music in the park
  • 10 p.m. - Fireworks

  • Greenfield Village’s Salute to America runs from July 2 to July 5 and has fireworks happening each night with a performance by Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Tickets can be purchased here.

  • 10 a.m. - Parade begins downtown

St. Clair County

  • At dusk - Fireworks show at Downtown St. Clair in Palmer Park

Livingston County

Fowlerville

  • 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. - Car show at Fowlerville Community Park
  • 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. - Performance by stunt juggler Clark Lewis at Fowlerville Community Park
  • 5 p.m. - Watermelon eating contest at Fowlerville Community Park
  • 6 p.m. - Sack race and corn hole at Fowlerville Community Park
  • 7 p.m. - Parade in Downtown Fowlerville

Brighton

  • 6:30/6:45 a.m. - Hungry Duck Run
  • 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. - Games on Main Street
  • 9:30 a.m. - Duckling Dash on Main Street
  • 10 a.m. - Parade steps off at Main Street and Church
