Law enforcement from Livingston, Oakland and Lapeer counties searched Spaulding’s 40-acre property and the surrounding areas on Sunday, July 6. They used ATVs, drones, manned aircraft and dogs but did not find him.

Authorities said Spaulding is an “avid walker” who has been known to cover several miles, which means he could have been outside of the searched area at the time.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to check their property for Spaulding, but reminded residents not to search private properties without permission. They also cautioned that the search areas include densely wooded terrain, swamps and thickets, which could be dangerous for untrained or ill-equipped individuals.

The Civil Air Patrol will provide additional aircraft to help search for Spaulding over the following days.
