Showers, thunderstorms, isolated flooding possible in Metro Detroit today -- Here’s a rough timeline

Isolated wind gusts around 50 to 60 mph and small hail possible

It’s a wet start to your Wednesday as showers and non-severe storms drape the area. You could hear a rumble of thunder or experience a heavy downpour. Highs will be in the low 80s.

More numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening. The strongest storms will be capable of producing isolated wind gusts around 50 to 60 mph and small hail.

Isolated flooding possible

Isolated flooding is also possible through this evening with pockets of heavy rain likely. The Storm Prediction Center has all of Southeast Michigan under a marginal risk for severe weather.

Timeline

The timeline is still a bit iffy, but overall it looks like we could see some discrete stronger storms around 2 p.m., but becoming more widespread by 4 p.m. I anticipate most of this will fizzle out by 8 p.m.
