Shooting at Simms Park in Southfield leaves 1 injured, suspect at large

Man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A shooting at Simms Park in Southfield has left one person injured.

It happened on Thursday, July 10, at 9:50 p.m. in the area of Pierce Street and Wiltshire Boulevard.

Police say they located a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

Officials said the man was transported to the hospital by Southfield Life with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have described the suspect as a Black man wearing all black clothing and latex gloves.

Officials stated that the suspect was last seen fleeing the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
