The 31-year-old man Southfield said he got into a road rage altercation with a tan vehicle that had tinted windows.

The driver was exiting at Trumbull when he heard a gunshot and felt a round hit his car, police said. He was not hurt.

Michigan State Police troopers found a bullet hole in the caller’s car. They closed I-94 for about two hours to search for evidence.

“Once again, we see a person using a handgun to try and settle a driving disagreement,” Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said. “We are very fortunate that no one was hurt in this incident.

“If you are involved in a road rage incident, just ignore the other driver and try to create distance between the other vehicle and yourself.”

Police continue to investigate.
