LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office believes they have recovered the body of a missing man.

Jerry Spaulding, 85, was last seen on July 5, leaving his Oceola Township home on Argentine Road, just north of M-59.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff, a body was found on July 13 in a swampy area near Brophy Road and Botsford Road at around 9:45 p.m.
Deputies responded to the area after a farmer went to chase a loose calf into the swampy area and found the body. Deputies said the deceased man appeared to be stuck in a knee-high mud hole near Neff Lake.
The sheriff’s office believes this was Spaulding.
There were no visible signs of a struggle or confrontation, according to authorities. The body was taken to University of Michigan Sparrow for a medical examination.
The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff’s office is still working on a positive identification and cause of death.
