Two of the stolen Jeeps were seen traveling at a high speed, and two Monroe police officers gave chase until deputies could take over.

Two deputies saw stolen Jeeps and gave chase -- one heading west and the other north.

The westbound Jeep was in deputy’s line of sight when the driver abandoned it behind a home and fled on foot into a wooded area.

The Jeep headling north on North Monroe Street turned east onto Newport Road and entered northbound I-75. It left the roadway into thick vegetation and the driver fled on foot, police said.

Nobody was arrested, but those two stolen Jeeps were recovered.
