Eastpointe man shot, police capture 3 fleeing suspects with help from multiple agencies

Police said they located man suffering from gunshot wound to abdomen before taking lifesaving measures

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – Police said they have arrested three fleeing suspects who were involved in the shooting of an Eastpointe man from multiple agencies.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (July 22) at 4:22 p.m. when Eastpointe police responded to a report of a shooting in the 24000 block of Kelly Road.

Police said they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen before taking immediate lifesaving measures.

Officials said Eastpointe Fire and Rescue, along with MedStar, arrived on the scene shortly after to provide care and transported the man to a hospital in Metro Detroit for treatment.

Police said they received a call while on scene from a witness who reported that three suspects were seen fleeing the area on foot.

In response, Eastpointe officers were assisted by the St. Clair Shores K-9 Unit, St. Clair Shores Drone Unit, Roseville Police Department, and the Michigan State Police (MSP), who established a perimeter.

Police stated that all three suspects were located and taken into custody without incident.

Officials said they responded to the scene, conducted a thorough investigation, and recovered evidence related to the crime.

The case remains an active and ongoing investigation, and there is no current threat to the public.
