Two people who were charged for vandalizing Detroit’s Guardian Building are also accused of damaging the 36th District Court building.
Ramzu Yunus, 49, of Highland Park, and Angela Tajuan Williams, 57, of Waldorf, Maryland, are accused of causing damage to both buildings early on Saturday, July 19, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

36th District Court vandalized
At about 7:28 a.m. on July 19, Detroit officers were called to the 36th District Court in the 4200 block of Madison Street after receiving a report about property damage.
When they arrived, they talked to security guards and learned that at about 4:30 a.m., the duo allegedly used a slingshot to break a window of the courthouse. No one was injured, officials said.
Later that day, officers located Yunus and Williams near Madison and Witherell streets and initiated a traffic stop.
Police said Yunus was wearing an empty holster on his hip, and when they searched the vehicle, they found a handgun with ammunition and a slingshot with metal pellets.
Yunus was charged with malicious destruction of a building- $1,000 to $20,000, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed weapons and two counts of felony firearm.
Williams was charged with malicious destruction of a building- $1,000 to $20,000.
They were scheduled to be arraigned on these charges Wednesday afternoon.
Guardian Building vandalism charges
The charges related to damaging the 36th District Court come a day after Yunus and Williams were arraigned on charges in connection with vandalizing the Guardian building.
Officers were called to the Guardian Building in the 500 block of Griswold Street at around 4:50 a.m. on Saturday.
Security guards told them that five minutes before they arrived, someone had damaged the glass revolving door using a slingshot.
No one was injured, according to police.
Yunus is charged with malicious destruction of a building between $1,000 and $20,000, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed weapon, and two felony firearm violations.
Williams is charged with malicious destruction of a building between $1,000 and $20,000.
They were both arraigned on the charges in this case on Tuesday.
Yunus was issued a $50,000 personal bond, and Williams was issued a $25,000 personal bond. Both were also ordered to wear GPS tethers.
A probable cause conference was scheduled for July 29, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for Aug. 5.
