A 4Warn Weather alert is in effect for July 24, 2025. (WDIV)
A 4Warn Weather Alert has been issued for Thursday due to high heat, humidity and storm potential.
The Heat Advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 24 for all of Southeast Michigan as high temperatures reach the low to mid-90s with heat indices peaking around 102 degrees.
The potential for thunderstorms increases this afternoon and especially this evening. The strongest storms will be capable of 60 mph damaging wind gusts and localized flooding due to the threat of downpours producing a quick 1.5 to 2 inches of rainfall.
It’s worth noting that the later these storms develop, there is the potential for them to not be less severe. The exact amount of instability in place will be critical in determining how strong to severe these storms will get. This will also be an isolated event as opposed to widespread storm activity.
