MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – What happened to Jimmy Hoffa is a question that’s been asked for decades.
But Wednesday (July 23) night at Macomb Community College, a group with insights into the Detroit mob said they know what happened.
The ticketed event was called “Hoffa Mystery Solved: 50 years later.”
Former federal prosecutor Richard Convertino, crime writer Scott Burnstein, and former mob soldier Nove Tocco were all on the panel.
They claim Hoffa was killed by Detroit mobster Tony Palazzolo.
Palazzolo then allegedly bragged of involvement in the hit on an FBI wire, saying he put Hoffa’s body in a meat grinder.
“It was said in a way, and I hear it, it wasn’t light-hearted, it wasn’t fun and games. It was a serious statement for a real purpose, and you take that into context like you would in the other statement. He was a friend of ours. Needless, kind of inconsequential ending of itself. Contextually, it was very important way to introduce someone. It was the same thing when he said, ‘This is where I put Jimmy.’”

“Sometimes, the best way to lie is to tell the truth. And knowing Tony, that is exactly what he would do. The truth is so unimaginable that nobody believes it. And I think that’s what happened here.”
