Wayne County judge extends restraining order on Detroit Thermal’s heating system project
Controversial construction has residents concerned about potential damages
DETROIT – A Wayne County judge has extended a temporary restraining order on a controversial construction project in Lafayette Park.
The project aims to reconnect people living at the 1300 Lafayette East co-op building to a steam heating system.

Detroit Thermal said it needs to start work before Aug. 4 to make sure the heat is ready for winter.
Those living in the historic area are worried the project could damage the property.
