WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Tuesday at an apartment complex in Canton.
UPDATE: 13-year-old girl killed in shooting at Canton Township apartment complex, police say
The shooting happened at the Ridgeline at Canton Apartments off Joy Road and Honeytree Boulevard on July 29.
Canton police confirmed a 13-year-old was shot. Details on the teen’s condition have not yet been released.
Police also said a person of interest was taken into custody, and there is no immediate threat to the community.
The Canton Police Department will be holding a press conference at 3 p.m. on Tuesday regarding the shooting.
The area is closed for an unknown amount of time.
