How much rain did Metro Detroit get? Here’s a list of totals from Monday’s storms

New rainfall record set at Detroit Metro Airport

Storms moved through Metro Detroit on Monday, July 28, bringing heavy rainfall that prompted flash flood warnings across the region.

By 4 p.m. on Monday, Detroit Metro Airport set a daily rainfall record with 2.4 inches of rain. The old record, 2.16 inches, was set back in 2011.

Additional rainfall added to that total, and several other areas of Metro Detroit also saw a significant amount of rainfall on Monday.

As of 10 p.m. on Monday, July 28, here’s a list of rainfall totals reported for cities in the area:

  • Romulus - 3.31 inches
  • Roseville - 3.01 inches
  • Waldenburg - 3.57 inches
  • St. Clair Shores - 4.00 inches
  • Beverly Hills - 2.85 inches
  • Ann Arbor - 2.85 inches
  • Shelby Twp. - 1.62 inches
  • Rochester - 1.47 inches
  • Dearborn - 1.47 inches
  • Berkley - 1.31 inches
