United States Coast Guard Air Station Detroit rescued three people on Thursday.
At 12:13 a.m. on July 31, Coast Guard Sector Detroit received a notification that a 29-foot sailing vessel ran aground on Middle Island in Ontario, Canada, with three people aboard. The sector issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and launched Station Marblehead’s Response Boat.
The helicopter crew then arrived at the scene and sent a rescue swimmer. The swimmer hoisted the three people into the helicopter.
The helicopter transported the three people to Port Clinton, Ohio. They are expected to be okay.
