LIVONIA, Mich. – A police chase in Livonia ended in a crash Friday evening, leaving three people injured.
Livonia police officers made a traffic stop in the area of 7 Mile and Middlebelt just before 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 1.
During the traffic stop, police said the driver fled, resulting in a pursuit.
The suspect driver traveled southbound on Merriman and crashed into another vehicle. Police said the crash resulted in a fire in the parking lot of a nearby gas station.
Two people who were in the suspect vehicle tried to run away but were eventually arrested. They sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash.
The person in the car that was struck by the fleeing vehicle was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
