DEARBORN, Mich. – A Dearborn man is wanted on suspicion of kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter and is facing a terror threat charge for what he said to the girl’s mother, police said.
Jafar Almaarej, 39, of Dearborn, is wanted by the Millcreek Police Department on charges of kidnapping, interference with the custody of children, and terroristic threats.

Police said Almaarej took his biological 7-year-old daughter on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 3, 2025.
Almaarej is accused of violating his custody orders, which sparked the alert from police.
Officials said Almaarej told the girl’s mother that if she went to the authorities, law enforcement would have to search for their bones. That’s what led to the terrorist threats charge, they said.
Almaarej was last seen driving a black 4-door Jeep Wrangler, with Michigan license plate No. 050G994. They said the license plate might be swapped on the Jeep.
Police say anyone who sees Almaarej or the Jeep should call 911 or a local police department.
