DETROIT – A Detroit woman has been charged in connection with a crash that killed two people on the city’s east side last week.
Micah Simone Abby-Wills, 29, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of operating while intoxicated, causing death, two counts of reckless driving, causing death, and two counts of operating while licenses suspended, revoked or denied, causing death, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
The crash that happened in the 10500 block of Gratiot Avenue near French Road just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
When officers arrived, medics were working to extricate Wills from the driver’s seat and the victims, identified as siblings Catone Scott, 39, of Detroit, and Jashaunda Scott, 38, of Warren, from the rear passenger seats of the car.

Catone was pronounced dead at the scene. Jashauna was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries a short time later.
Abby-Wills was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
She allegedly was intoxicated and drove northbound on Gratiot Avenue at a high speed, lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the former Nationalwide Furniture building.
Abby-Wills was arraigned on Aug. 2, 2025, and her bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety. If released, she must wear a GPS tether.
On Monday, Aug. 4, she had a bond re-determination hearing, where the judge did not reduce her bond and also added an alcohol tether.
Her probable cause conference is scheduled for Aug. 11, and her preliminary examination is scheduled for Aug. 18.
