Northbound I-75 was shut down at I-94 in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – The northbound lanes of I-75 have reopened at I-94 in Wayne County following a gravel hauler with double trailer rollover crash.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025.

The Detroit Regional Communication Center reported receiving calls about a rolled-over gravel hauler.

When the Troopers arrived, they reported that they had located a rolled-over semi-tractor trailer and gravel train up the embankment, with the two trailers blocking all lanes except the left lane.

Preliminary investigation: On-scene investigation revealed that the 32-year-old semi-truck driver from Sebewaing was unable to stop in a safe, clear distance and rear-ended a passenger car.

The impact caused the semi to roll over.

The crash caused the semi to also hit the bridge abutment. MDOT was notified to inspect the bridge.

The driver of the passenger car was transported to a local hospital as a precaution due to a bump on the head.

The freeway was shut down for the cleanup, diverting all traffic onto both eastbound and westbound I-94 Freeway.
