ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – Nearly 1,000 houses are expected to participate in a citywide garage sale that’s happening in St. Clair Shores this weekend.
This is the third year of the sale, which is organized by the St. Clair Shores Cool City Committee.

Last year, the average sale yielded $400, while sellers, businesses and restaurants profited around $750,000.
People who attend the event are encouraged to plan a route, park on streets legally and to be kind.

When is the citywide garage sale in St. Clair Shores?
The garage sale is scheduled to happen from Friday, Aug. 15, through Sunday, Aug. 17.
Most houses run the sales from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but some sellers start as early as 9 a.m.
Organizers say the sales typically happen on Saturday and Sunday, but some sellers begin their garage sales on Friday.
Who is participating in the garage sale?
More than 900 sellers have signed up to participate in the citywide garage sale this year.
The Cool City Committee shared the following list, which includes the sellers participating in the sale by zip code (48080, 48081, 48082).

The organization said the highlighted addresses will be participating in the sale on Friday, Aug. 15.
Filthy Fortunes visit
This year, the crew from the Discovery series Filthy Fortunes will be visiting the citywide garage sale.
“Without this community coming together and producing such excitement and interest in our annual garage sale, the production crew may not have ever found us,” the Cool City Committee said in a Facebook post. “So kudos to this community for bringing Hollywood to the Shores.”

Can I still participate as a seller?
Seller registration closed on Friday, Aug. 8.
“Registration closes one week before the SCS City Wide Garage Sale so the Committee can finalize the list of homes for buyers to reference,” according to the Cool City Committee’s website.
