Police looking for mini-bike gunman involved in 2 separate Detroit shootings

Both incidents occurred on July of 2025

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is seeking information from the community regarding a mini-bike gunman who was involved in two separate shootings.

On July 5, 2025, around 12:10 a.m. in the area of Joy Road and American Street, where police said a victim in his 40s was with his disabled vehicle awaiting a tow when an unknown man described as light-skinned, mid-20s, approximately 5’6” and medium build wearing a white t-shirt and green reflective vest approached him on a mini-bike offering to help.

Police said the man in his 40s stated that he told the suspect that he didn’t need assistance, at which time the man became irate and produced a gun, firing multiple shots at the victim, non-fatally injuring him.

Detectives also believe that the same suspect is wanted for a non-fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man that occurred on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the area of Belton and Northlawn streets.

The suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation when the suspect fired a shot, striking the victim.

The victims of both incidents were treated at local hospitals for their injuries.
