Motorcyclist hit by pickup, critically injured in Port Huron

He was not wearing a helmet at the time

PORT HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 38-year-old man from Marysville was critically injured after his motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck in Port Huron Township.

The crash happened Aug. 8 at about 4:30 p.m.

According to authorities, a 35-year-old Port Huron man in a Chevrolet Silverado had attempted to turn left out of a parking lot onto 24th Street when he hit the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Emergency crews found the man unresponsive and bleeding heavily. He was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role. The pickup truck driver is cooperating with the investigation.
