MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – A police chase in Monroe County ended in a crash, a foot pursuit, and the eventual arrest of three individuals.
The incident occurred on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at approximately 7:17 p.m.

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies and Monroe Public Safety officers responded to the area of E. Elm Avenue and I-75.
They said they were alerted by FLOCK of a stolen vehicle in the vicinity.
Polce said the vehicle, a gray 2013 Ford Edge, had been reported stolen earlier that day from Oakridge Estates Mobile Home Park in Monroe Township.
Deputy Austin Graham said he located the vehicle traveling eastbound on E. Elm Avenue near Detroit Avenue.
Police said a traffic stop was initiated, and the vehicle was initially pulled over.
Shortly after, the vehicle fled the traffic stop, heading eastbound on E. Elm Avenue at speeds up to 80 mph.
At the dead end of E. Elm Avenue, officials said the stolen vehicle left the roadway, crashed through a fence, and entered the property of a business in the 3200 block of E. Elm Avenue.
Police said the vehicle drove to the rear of the property, where three occupants fled on foot.
Officers from Monroe Public Safety said they quickly located and apprehended two of the occupants, while Deputy Brent Thomas apprehended the driver.
The driver, an 18-year-old boy from Monroe, was arrested and lodged at the Monroe County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding and receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle.
His identity is being withheld pending formal arraignment in 1st District Court.
Two juvenile passengers, ages 15 and 17 from Monroe, were released to parents and guardians.
They face pending charges of a similar nature.
Evidence recovered from the stolen vehicle indicates the occupants’ involvement in numerous larcenies from vehicles in Monroe and surrounding counties.
Deputy Austin Graham of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Uniformed Services Division continues to investigate the case.
