POINT EDWARD, Ontario – Authorities have stopped roughly 775 pounds of cocaine from entering Canada from Port Huron.
According to authorities, officers with the Canada Border Services Agency were inspecting a commercial truck entering from Michigan on Aug. 13, when they found six containers in the trailer that had about 330 pounds of cocaine. Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs to be $18.8 million.

Gurjeet Singh, a 28-year-old from Ontario, was arrested and charged with importation of cocaine, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The next day, another semi truck coming from the United States was inspected and officers reportedly found about 440 pounds of cocaine in the trailer. Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs to be $24.9 million.
Abdikadir Egal, a 38-year-old also from Ontario, was arrested and charged with importation of cocaine, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
