DETROIT – Southbound I-75 in Detroit will be closed from Clark Avenue to Schaefer Road over the next two weekends for bridge enhancements.
All on-ramps to southbound I-75 between Clark Avenue and Schaefer Road will also be closed during this time.

The first closure will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, and last until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8. The same closure will occur the following weekend, from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15.
Drivers will be detoured onto westbound I-96, westbound I-94, and southbound I-275 back to I-75. Fort Street (M-85) will be available for local traffic as an alternate route.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is adding a protective surface to four bridges that had their decks replaced during a 2017-2018 project. This work is part of a $42 million project that includes applying an epoxy overlay to the I-75 Rouge River bridge, the I-75 bridge over Fort Street (M-85), and several ramp bridges.
