The driver was allegedly traveling 95 mph in a 55 mph zone.

While talking to the driver, identified as a 34-year-old man from Detroit, the trooper noticed signs of impairment.

A roadside investigation was conducted, and the man was arrested for driving impaired.

When his vehicle was searched, police located a loaded gun and a bag of suspected crack cocaine under the driver’s seat, according to MSP.

The man was taken to the Detroit Detention Center. The case pends a prosecutor’s review.

“Another driver made a poor decision by driving impaired,” said Michigan State Lt. Mike Shaw. “This suspect made matters worse by driving at a excessive speed and having a loaded gun and drugs in the car. Great job by the troops to get this dangerous driver, gun and drugs off our roads.”
