No serious injuries reported in rollover crash involving ambulance in Warren

Crash happened at 11 Mile, Hoover intersection

WARREN, Mich. – No serious injuries were reported after a crash involving an ambulance Monday morning in Warren.

The crash happened at the intersection of 11 Mile and Hoover Road on Sept. 8 at around 9:30 a.m.

Police said a Universal Ambulance van was heading north on Hoover approaching the westbound I-696 Service Drive intersection with its emergency lights on. They proceeded into the intersection where they were struck by an SUV that had a green light and was heading west on the service drive.

The ambulance was struck on the rear passenger side, causing it to roll over.

Inside the ambulance were two medics and a 55-year-old patient. All three were taken to the hospital by the Warren Fire Department for further evaluation, but no serious injuries were reported.

The SUV was driven by a 33-year-old woman with her 2-year-old son as a passenger. They were checked out at the scene by first responders, but no injuries were reported, and they were not taken to the hospital.

According to police, there has been no determination yet as to which driver was at fault.
