NOVI, Mich. – The abrupt closing of My Suit Club in Novi has many weddings in jeopardy of being canceled.
Customers prepaid for their clothing, but have no idea when a refund may be offered.
“My stomach dropped, and I was like, ‘Oh my God. I can’t believe this is happening.’ I thought that maybe it was not real,” said Leo Zeciri.
Zeciri was one of many customers taken by surprise by My Suit Club in Twelve Oaks Mall, which abruptly closed its doors this week, leaving customers in the dark.
In Zeciri’s situation, the store closed just three days before his wedding.
“I paid My Suit Club like $3,400 back in May. We were supposed to get the suits on Monday. That didn’t happen, obviously,” Zeciri said.
Customers at the now-closed store had to pay in advance.
Currently, they report that employees are uncertain about when a refund may become available.
“Obviously, I’m frustrated and disappointed,” Zeciri said.
“They’re getting hurt, no question about it. It’s devastating. They prepaid for merchandise, and they’re left holding the bag. It’s a bad set of circumstances,” said Todd’s Menswear owner, David Elkus.
In Royal Oak, the phones started ringing off the hook at Todd’s menswear after the announcement was made that “My Suit Club“ would be shutting down.
“They posted a notice telling their customers to come talk to us, and I suspect that they did because we can be part of the solution as we have the same type of merchandise that they carry,” said Elkus.
Elkus is offering the same selection of wedding suits for a cheaper price.
“Our suit packages - coat, pants, shirt, tie, Hankey - $129.99. We have plenty of inventory, and we’ll be on the phone tomorrow ordering more to make sure we have inventory available for them,” Elkus said.
Local 4 is waiting to hear back from employees at My Suit Club or even a representative about refunds.

To all of the people affected by this sudden closing please be advised that the owner had a medical emergency and is incapacitated and unable to respond to anyone at this point.
This was not a corporate run business it was a single owner and a few employees and the business has been in operation for 15+ years.
Megan and others has been assisting with distributing what merchandise they have and contacting customers that had the most recent events.
As of 9/16/25 anything that has arrived to fill orders has been processed and delivered. Unfortunately, that did not fulfill all of the outstanding orders. We have referred customers to Todd’s Menswear.
Todd’s Menswear has been assisting with the situation and it has been greatly appreciated.
