Investigation underway after crash on Gratiot Avenue leaves 2 dead Crash adds to growing list of fatal incidents on Gratiot Avenue this year
DETROIT – Two men in their 30s were killed in a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle at the intersection of Gratiot and Mt. Elliott in Detroit.
Police said the collision happened on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at 1:30 in the morning.
The crash is the latest in a series of fatal incidents on Gratiot Avenue this year.
The men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, a woman also in her 30s, was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
She was later placed in custody.
Police believe alcohol may have played a role, but the investigation is still in its early stages.
