Man accused of assaulting, dragging 11-year-old girl in Monroe County

A Monroe County man was arrested Monday night for allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl, then dragging her out of the home.

It happened on Sept. 22 just before 8 p.m. in the 1800 block of Aspen Street in Newport.

Deadly crash closes EB I-96 at Beck Road

All lanes on eastbound I-96 at Beck Road are closed Tuesday morning due to a deadly crash.

Weather: Dense fog advisory issued for Metro Detroit, another round of showers and thunderstorms expected

It’s a groggy and foggy start to the day! Coming off a late night Lions’ victory, you might want to hit snooze, but you really need to give yourself a few extra minutes on the roads due to low visibility.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for areas along and south of I-69 until 9AM. This will be the warmest day of the week with highs in the upper 70s.

Looking at another round of showers and thunderstorms today, especially mid-afternoon into the evening hours. Gusty winds and locally heavy downpours will be possible.
