Taylor man accused of repeatedly pistol-whipping girlfriend during abduction

Victim hospitalized following alleged assault with a firearm

TAYLOR, Mich. – A 48-year-old Taylor man is facing felony charges after reportedly abducting and assaulting his girlfriend.

According to authorities, Taylor police officers were dispatched Aug. 30 to the area of Beech Daly Road and Leroy Street on reports of an assault, where they found a 62-year-old woman with a head injury. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police believe Bradly Carl Dickens assaulted the woman at her home on Kerstyn Street before forcing her into his car. While inside the vehicle, Dickens allegedly struck her in the head multiple times with a handgun and fired the gun several times.

She exited the vehicle, which drove off.

An investigation by the Taylor Police Department resulted in Dickens’ arrest on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

Dickens was charged Thursday, Sept. 25, with unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, domestic violence, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and four counts of felony firearm.
