Rosa Parks Transit Center on lockdown after shooting; police seek suspect with ‘youthful appearance’

DETROIT – The Rosa Parks Transit Center in downtown Detroit is on lockdown right now after a man was shot.

Police said a young adult or possibly even a teenager shot a young man in the ankle.

The victim is expected to survive. But the transit center is shut down while police investigate and try to find the shooter.

Local 4 spoke to police moments ago, who described the suspect they’re looking for.

“The investigation is still fluid. They have a youthful appearance, but we cannot confirm if they are teenagers; they are not supposed to be anywhere right now,” said Detroit police Deputy Chief Franklin Hayes.
