Driver runs red light, causes deadly hit-and-run on Detroit east side
Witnesses urged to come forward in crash investigation
DETROIT – Police are searching for a driver who ran a red light and caused a deadly crash on Detroit’s east side.
It happened Saturday, Oct. 4, at the intersection of Chalmers and Seymour streets.
Police said the at-fault driver ran the red light and hit two other cars before they ran away on foot.
A passenger in one of the cars hit died at the scene. Three others were injured but are expected to survive.
Detroit police are working to identify the driver who fled the scene.
