CLAWSON, Mich. – A Clawson resident and his wife, Aaron and Heaven Cozadd are welcoming guests into their elevated Midwest restaurant they just opened in Clawson.
Red and The Wolf opened Monday at 110 E. 14 Mile Rd. – the former location of Zeoli’s Modern Italian, which according to Crain’s closed in March.
According to a Facebook post on Sept. 22, the Cozadd’s were supposed to open Vigilante Kitchen in the old Lims building next to Clawson Auto. “However, due to unforeseen circumstances we had to pivot,” the couple said.
“Luckily the stars aligned which offered us the chance to open in the old Zeoli’s space,” the post read. “The large space made us feel that it would better serve the community if we took our fine dining ideals and applied them to more casual.”
The couple named the restaurant Red & The Wolf, which comes from the nicknames the couple made for each other after hearing the song “Lil Red Riding Hood” by The Meteors in a restaurant kitchen.
Red and The Wolf’s menu features items such as Peruvian chicken pizza, Szechuan hot chicken baos and smoked ribeye. The restaurant will also offer a large selection of plant-based items.
The restaurant is open Monday-Thursday from 11a.m.-11p.m., Friday-Saturday from 11a.m. - 1a.m., and Sunday from 11a.m. - 10p.m. A lunch menu is offered every day until 4 p.m. when the restaurant switches to a full dinner menu.
