This follows nationwide “No Kings” protests held on June 14 against President Trump’s military parade in Washington, D.C.
Here are what Michigan Republicans are saying in response to Saturday’s ‘No Kings’ protests:
Congressman Tim Walberg
“President Trump has delivered a historic peace deal, and Republicans have voted responsibly to fund our government. Meanwhile, Democrats have repeatedly opposed a clean government funding bill, as they faced pressure from the numerous radical groups behind the nationwide “No Kings” rallies, including the Communist Party, the Young Communist League, and the Democratic Socialists of America. This is especially concerning due to the calls for political violence that we’ve seen at rallies like these, including in Monroe County this past week, where Democratic Party officials called for President Trump’s assassination. Jocelyn Benson, who headlined this event in Monroe, has yet to condemn the calls for violence from her fellow Democratic Party officials. It’s time for Democrats to distance themselves from the radical ideologies fueling division and violence, and instead come back to the table and reopen the government by voting for the funding bill they’ve supported 14 previous times.”
Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05)
Congressman Tom Barrett
“There is no king of the United States of America, which is exactly why people are free to protest peacefully and make their voices heard. I defended that freedom in the Army, and I’m eternally grateful for it, even when it means the same handful of protestors show up at cookie-cutter rallies that are funded and organized by far-left groups whose only goal is to sow division in our country.”
Congressman Tom Barrett (MI-07)
Congresswoman Lisa McClain
The “No Kings”…or as I like to call them “Hate America” rallies this weekend are literally sponsored by the Communist AND Socialist Parties of America.
