DETROIT – Local 4 is gearing up for the 22nd annual Detroit Tree Lighting, presented by the DTE Energy Foundation and produced by the Downtown Detroit Partnership.
The event will take place at Campus Martius on Nov. 21, 2025, at 7 p.m.
Demond Fernandez reported live from Campus Martius with Bob Ellis, general manager and vice president of WDIV-TV, and Eric B. Larson, CEO of the Downtown Detroit Partnership, to share details about the exciting partnership.
Nov. 21 marks a big night for Detroit as the tree-lighting event expands from one hour to two hours, thanks to the collaboration between Local 4 and the Downtown Detroit Partnership.
Ellis expressed enthusiasm about bringing more local programming to viewers and celebrating the start of the holiday season in Detroit.
Larson highlighted the significance of the partnership, noting that the event draws over 100,000 people to the heart of the city.
The park transforms from summer to winter right before attendees’ eyes, and the expanded coverage will include behind-the-scenes content on Local 4+ and Clickondetroit.com.
Fans can look forward to surprises, local skating performances, and great talent both on and off the ice.
The event will also lead into Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day parade, making it a festive kickoff to the holiday season.
