Police said they observed open liquor bottles and cups and began investigating open intoxicants.

Police said Jasmine Royster, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was asked multiple times to provide identification and to exit the vehicle.

Officials said she initially refused and then resisted handcuffing, requiring assistance from another officer.

During the arrest, police said a man approached the officer and was detained after refusing to leave the area.

Body camera footage showed Royster claiming an injury inside her mouth from being pushed against a scout car.

EMS examined her at the scene.

Royster was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital for alcohol clearance before being transported to the Detroit Detention Center.

Royster was issued citations for disorderly public intoxication, open alcohol in a motor vehicle, loitering, no insurance, and disobeying a lawful order.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office charged Royster with one count of assaulting, resisting, and obstructing a police officer.

Royster was arraigned on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2025, in the 36th District Court.
