Food assistance programs to be paused Nov. 1 if government shutdown continues

The government shutdown is expected to affect hundreds of thousands of people in Michigan this weekend.

On Saturday, the government is pausing SNAP -- the program that gives aid to low-income families to buy food. Now, food banks are preparing for an influx of people.
