‘Armed and dangerous’ man runs into woods after crash in Huron Township

HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An “armed and dangerous” man ran into the woods after crashing his car in Huron Township, police said.

Officers launched a manhunt, saying the man is wanted for multiple felony charges. He was taken into custody around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities alerted the public Wednesday, Oct. 29, at about 11:30 a.m. that they were searching for a wanted man out of Taylor. He reportedly crashed a car near the intersection of Crawford and Middlebelt roads before running into the woods.

Police are using drones and K-9 units to search the area. Residents are asked to remain inside and lock their doors.

Officials urge anyone who sees the man not to approach him but to immediately call 911. They consider him armed and dangerous.

Area schools have been contacted as a precaution.
