Warren man faces charges after aiming rifle at officers responding to domestic dispute

Probable cause conference scheduled for Nov. 13 in Warren

Eddie Clark (WDIV)

WARREN, Mich. – A 53-year-old man from Warren has been arraigned after police say he pointed an AK-47-style rifle at officers responding to a domestic violence call at his apartment on Saturday.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor, Eddie Clark opened his apartment door on Nov. 1 and aimed the rifle at officers who had knocked and announced themselves.

It is alleged that officers heard someone inside the apartment say, “Y’all ready?”

In response, officers fired shots and then withdrew to ensure their safety.

Clark later surrendered without further incident.

A search warrant at Clark’s apartment uncovered the loaded rifle and a handgun with its serial number scratched off.

The person who called the police was unharmed.

On Monday, Nov. 3, Clark was arraigned in the 37th District Court in Warren on several charges, including assault with intent to murder, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person, altering firearm identification marks, and two counts of felony firearm.

Clark also faces a Habitual Offender Fourth Offense Notice -- a formal charge in Michigan that indicates he has three or more previous felony convictions and is now accused of a new felony.

His bond has been set at $1 million.

He is scheduled for a probable cause conference on Nov. 13, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Warren District Court.
