1 killed during shooting at gathering outside Detroit home, police say Man shot during altercation on Rutherford Street

DETROIT – One person was killed during a shooting at a gathering outside a Detroit home, police said.
The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025 in the 7700 block of Rutherford Street on Detroit’s west side.
Police said there was a gathering out side a home on that block, and two men got into an altercation.
One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other, according to police.
The man who was shot died at a nearby hospital, officers said.
The investigation is ongoing.
