Police say teenager is expected to be okay

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – A 17-year-old boy was shot after a fight broke out after a high school football game in Harper Woods on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.

The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot outside Harper Woods High School during the playoff game against Chandler Park Academy.

Despite a heavy law enforcement presence, including Harper Woods Police, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and Michigan State Police, a large fight broke out minutes before the game ended.

The 17-year-old from Warren was shot in the lower torso.

He was treated at the scene by the Harper Woods Fire Department before being taken to a local hospital.

He is expected to be okay.

The shooting is currently under investigation.
