Human skull found in wooded area in Wayne, police say

Skull may be connected to skeletal remains that were found in March

WAYNE, Mich. – A human skull was discovered in a wooded area in the city of Wayne on Thursday afternoon, and police believe it’s linked to previously discovered skeletal remains.

At about 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, a survey crew found the skull in the wooded area northwest of Michigan Avenue and Newburgh Road, according to Wayne Police Deputy Chief Finley Carter III.

Investigators believe it could be linked to adult skeletal remains that were found in March.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t identified those remains yet, and the investigation is still open, according to police.

No other information has been released at this time.
